5. Use of social media plugins
(1) We currently use the following social media plugins: Twitter, Xing, LinkedIn. We employ a two-click solution. This means that when you visit our site, no personal data is initially sent to the provider of the plugin. The provider of the plugin can be identified via the marking on the box, by its starting letter or by their logo. We provide you with the ability to communicate directly with the plugin provider by clicking on the button. Only when you click on the indicated area to activate the plugin will the plugin provider receive information that you have accessed the respective website of our online offering. The data indicated in Article 3 of this privacy policy is also transmitted. For Facebook and Xing, these providers state that IP addresses will be anonymised in Germany immediately upon collection. By activating the plugin, you are sending personal data to the respective plugin provider (in the USA in the case of American providers) where this data is then stored. Since plugin providers often collect data via cookies, we recommend deleting all cookies via your browser’s security settings before clicking on the greyed out box.

(3) The plugin provider stores the data collected about you as a user profile and uses this for the purposes of advertising, market research and/or presenting personalised content on their website. Such use of your data is made especially (and not just for logged in users) for presenting targeted advertising and in order to inform other users of the social network about your activities on our website. You are entitled to object to the creation of such user profiles. Please contact the provider of the respective plugin in order to exercise this right. By using these plugins, we provide you with the ability to interact with social networks and other users in order to improve our offering and make our content more interesting for you as a user. When you activate the button and perform an action such as sharing a link to the site, the plugin provider will also store this information in your user account and publicly share it with your contacts. We recommended regularly logging out of social networks after you have used them. This is particularly recommended before activating the button in order to avoid data being linked with your profile by the plugin provider.
(5) Further information regarding the purpose and scope of data collection and processing by the plugin providers can be found in the following privacy policies of the providers. They provide further information about your rights and configuration settings available for protecting your privacy.
